RSS 1 is the top visual and laboratory grade in the smoked-sheet family. Dirt content is at or below 0.05%, ash at or below 0.50%, and PRI at or above 60. Industrial compounders and specialty tire lines use RSS 1 when sheet appearance and cleanliness justify a premium over RSS 3 or TSR.
